Continue to Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam where the modern office buildings and brightly lit streets reflect the rapidly developing economy of this progressive country. However as you tour the city, the deep rooted culture and traditions of the Vietnamese people unveils itself. Enjoy a day trip to the Mekong Delta and explore the hidden canals and unique floating markets of the region.

Visit the quaint town of Hoi An, whose architecture reflects its history as a trading town and where the town’s streets are filled with family-run craftshops. Continuing up the coastline you reach Hue. Once the home of the imperial Nguyen dynasty, Hue is filled with towering monuments and crumbling edifices as well as a deep sense of tradition and culture.

Welcome to Hochiminh city ! – one of the most bustling cities of Vietnam where you can find the remains of the times to the best five star in the world. In fact, Hochiminh city is a city of commerce, industry, travel … where used to be considered as ” The Pearl of Far East Asia “.

The Mekong Delta, or the ‘Nine Dragon River Delta’, is a vast region in Southeast Vietnam. This is where the Mekong River approaches and enters in to the sea through its network of tributaries. Encompassing a large portion of Southeastern Vietnam of 39,000 km2, the Mekong Delta region is richly abundant with water, fruit orchards and most importantly, rice fields. It produces about half of the total of Vietnam’s agricultural output and is the place where you can best experience the timeless sceneries of farmers planting and harvesting rice.
Travel to Siem Reap, the former capital of the once-mighty Angkorian Empire and home to the magnificent temples built by the ancient Khmer kings. Over three days, you will explore these architectural wonders and unlock the mystery behind their construction and meaning.
Take a walking tour of the capital’s modern architecture which reflects the culturally and politically vibrant era of the mid-1900s. Visit the city’s palace and museum before enjoying an entertaining and enriching traditional performance of shadow puppetry and dance.
With specialist guides, remarkable hotels, and unique excursions, Asia Tour Advisor’s ‘Cambodia Highlight ‘ tour is a memorable journey.

Further, visit to the surroundings of the complex including the Baphou, Elephant Terraces, Lepper King Terrace and Royal Place area.

DAY 7: Enjoy a drive to the rural outskirt 35km from Angkor area to visit the smallest

Breakfast at hotel, 6:30 enjoy a drive to the rural outskirt 35km from Angkor area to visit the smallest, but magnificent, Banteay Srei built in the 10th Century and dedicated to Shiva. The temple was the birthplace of Khmer classical style architecture and the bas-relief work is the best example of Khmer classical art remaining. The pink sandstone structure bears a series of striking and beautiful sculptures, lintels, pediments and friezes. Khmers say the temple must have been carved by women for the details are too fine for the hands of a man. On the way back we visit to Banteay Samre temple and have a lunch local restaurant near Siem Reap town. Afternoon we embark on a short cruise on Tonle Sap Lake, Cambodia’s biggest natural water body (If time permits). The experience is wonderful as we pass by floating village, friendly children in small boats and fishermen at work. And then transfer to airport for flight to Phnom Penh. Upon arrival at Phnom Penh meet our guide and transfer to hotel for check in.

DAY 8: Visit Toul Sleng Museum

After breakfast at the hotel, set out on a city tour to visit the National Museum where houses Khmer art, especially sculptures from different periods of Cambodian history; Royal Place built in 1866 by King Norodom; Silver Pagoda is so named because of its floor, which is made up of 5,000 silver tiles and located within the Royal Palace compound, and visit Toul Sleng Museum, a reminder of the Khmer Rouge regime and then transfer to airport for departure.

Cambodia’s rich religious history means that it is home to some of the most beautiful temples in Southeast Asia. Built as early as the first millennium, a vast number still exist, waiting to be explored. While some have been left untouched and are now engulfed in jungle, others are lovingly preserved as magnificent spectacles of Cambodia’s past.

The Angkor Discovery tour has been specifically tailored to let you witness this country’s unique cultural heritage in a leisurely and comfortable fashion that ensures nothing of interest is missed. In the space of four days, you will get to see Cambodia’s most spectacular historical sights whilst staying in the region’s finest hotels.

Perhaps one of the most spectacular temples in the world, Angkor Wat, is your first destination. Constructed in the early 12th century it is considered a masterpiece of Khmer architecture. Inside the walls are covered with carvings and bas-reliefs depicting Hindu mythology, and over 2000 Asparas Dancers decorate the temple.

Starting with the early Angkor era temples dating to 893 AD you will get to witness the earliest traces of Cambodia’s historic religious culture before a trip to the majestic walled city of Angkor Thom. Entering its impressive stone gates and seeing the exuberant carvings all around is one of the finest experiences in the region.

Next, one of the oldest temples, dating back to 967 AD, is also one of the most beautiful. The intricate detailing that surrounds Banteay Srey’s walls is a magnificent spectacle that has been preserved in near perfect condition.

The final day of the tour will give you a chance to see the traditional floating village at Lake Tanle Sap, Asia’s largest freshwater lake, before a final spot of shopping and the transfer back to the airport, ending what we are sure will be an unforgettable experience.
