Starting from Ho Chi Minh City, your Vietnam tour begins with a short drive south, leaving the city behind and entering the rural landscapes of the Mekong Delta. Passing motorbikes piled high with goods, large water buffalos working in the fields and school children cycling to school, your kids will be entertained by the endlessly entertaining scenery.
A cruise through the Mekong Delta is a must for any Vietnam tour and for your family a special overnight trip is sure to delight. You’ll board a fabulous wooden riverboat and cruise through the winding canals of the Delta, stopping to visit riverside villages. As the evening approaches, the boat will moor and a delicious dinner will be served before retiring to your air conditioned cabins.
Continue to explore the waterways with a morning boat ride through the bustling floating Cai Rang market, where vendors line up their boats to sell their produce. Then it’s time to explore on land with a bike ride through farming villages and small laneways. You can stop as often as you like and are certain to meet lots of friendly locals.
The final night of this Vietnam family tour is almost certain to be a highlight of your holiday. You’ll spend the evening with a local family in their house in the Delta, learning about traditional Vietnamese culture and lifestyles. An unforgettable and enriching experience for the whole family.

DAY 1: HO CHI MINH CITY – ARRIVAL
Welcome to Ho Chi Minh City, the south’s most dynamic city. This afternoon is free at leisure and a range of activities can be arranged for your family such as city tours, cooking classes, museum visits and so on. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City
DAY 2: HO CHI MINH CITY – CAI BE – OVERNIGHT CRUISE (B,L,D)
Your family holiday begins with a drive to the Mekong Delta, and as you leave the city the landscape changes from cityscapes into scenes of farms and smaller villages. Midday you’ll board a fabulous riverboat for an overnight cruise, winding your way through the canals of the Mekong Delta and stopping to visit local riverside villages. Kids will delight in watching the vibrant scenes of Delta life go by as you cruise on the water . Overnight aboard the Basaac Boat.
DAY 3: CAI RANG – CAN THO (B,L)
This morning, aboard a small local boat, cruise through the floating Cai Rang market where a maze of hundreds of boats are packed with mango, bananas, papaya and pineapple for sale. Return to land for an afternoon cycling journey through the quiet laneways around Can Tho, passing small villages and meeting friendly locals. Overnight homestay, Can Tho.
DAY 4: CAN THO – HO CHI MINH CITY – DEPARTURE (B,L)
After your breakfast, it’s time to say goodbye to your host family and drive back to Ho Chi Minh City. Transfer to the airport for your departure flight or continue your family holiday with a trip up to the north.
